How do you make sure your WordPress theme is easily found, demo-ed, and downloaded from the Free WordPress Themes website? Here’s a short checklist to remember whenever you hit that “submit” button:
- Your theme files should be inside a directory with a similar name to your theme name.
- Add all the necessary details to describe your theme. Use the description, colors, and tag fields wisely!
- Be sure to add a screenshot for your theme. (If you’re submitting an adult theme, make sure the images are censored!)
- Use the correct name of your theme.
- If your theme is dependent on several plugins, make sure they don’t break if they’re not available.
- Avoid using encrypted code in your theme files.
- Avoid using sponsor links in your themes.
