Christmas is a season and not just a day (Christmas starts on December 25th and lasts for two weeks, actually), so I would think that I’m not too late in posting about this just this week. The Performancing ‘Tis the Season theme for WordPress is still very much applicable for the remainder of the Christmas season, and even into the new years’ celebration this upcoming week.

Tis The Season theme for WordPress

‘Tis the Season uses the popular red-and-green color scheme that is very much in tune with the holiday seasons. The theme uses a fixed-width layout with a basic two-column structure featuring well-proportioned column widths. Again, here we use the rule of thirds popular among those well-versed in the arts, as with many other Performancing Themes for WordPress releases.

‘Tis the Season is a holiday theme very much applicable during these times of the year. This got me thinking–are seasonal themes good for the design community, and even to the blogging community as a whole? For instance, this holiday season, it’s not only Christmas that is celebrated, but other communities (and religions) as well do celebrate their own holidays and commemorations. So such types of designs are not limited in their audience and user-bases. So what about other seasons and times of the year?

Perhaps in 2008, we would see an influx of Olympics-themed designs. Or maybe come February, Valentine-oriented themes will be popular.

Of course, some bloggers would rather keep their themes steady, with only a few minor editions depending on the season (maybe the color scheme, header image or at least a sidebar button), for convenience’s sake, and to be sure of consistency in terms of search and/or design optimization.

But to most whose blogs reflect their personalities, then maybe changing blog themes according to season or mood is very apt.

New Year’s theme, anyone?
